Take the Ferrari 488 Spider or the Huracán EVO Spyder. Both are strict two-seaters with room for a small bag, and both stop people at a South Beach valet stand. The Ferrari is calmer in traffic; the Lamborghini is louder and feels like an event.
The Rolls-Royce Dawn keeps rear passengers comfortable for an hour or more. The BMW M4 and Mustang handle shorter rides, like Brickell to a Wynwood dinner. In the 911 and SL55, the rear seats are luggage space.
The Corvette C8 at $395 gives you a mid-engine layout and 60 mph in 2.9 seconds. The Audi R8 Spyder at $840 is the cheapest V10 here. Neither has a back seat, and trunks are small.
From June through October, storms often build in the afternoon. Save the long top-down drive for the morning or after sunset. Dark leather gets hot in direct sun, so close the roof when you park.
Ocean Drive went back to two-way traffic in February 2025, so you can cruise past the Art Deco hotels and Lummus Park again. Then follow Collins Avenue north toward Surfside and Bal Harbour.
Start in Brickell, climb the bridge over Biscayne Bay and run through Virginia Key to the far end of the island. Cape Florida's lighthouse makes the turnaround, with the skyline ahead of you on the way back.
The slow way between downtown Miami and Miami Beach. It hops across a chain of small residential islands and sits low over the water, the calmest roof-down drive in the city at night.
Take Main Highway through Coconut Grove, then Old Cutler Road south past Matheson Hammock and Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Old trees shade the road, and the Coral Gables homes along it reward a slow pace.

Be 18 or older, bring a valid, unexpired driver's license, and have a card for the refundable deposit: $1,000 on most cars, $500 on the Mustang. Use your own insurance or buy ours when you book direct by phone.
125 miles per day on the exotic and luxury convertibles, 150 on the Mustang. A Key Biscayne loop from Brickell is under 30 miles, and South Beach to Fort Lauderdale Beach on A1A is roughly 30 miles each way.
The Ferrari 488 Spider and Corvette C8 have folding hardtops that are quieter on the highway. The other seven use fabric roofs that fold fast and seal well in rain. Pick the car first and the roof second.
