This 2024 Stingray is the convertible, finished in gloss black with a red leather cabin that shows up in every photo. Its power hardtop folds away behind the seats in about 16 seconds and works at up to 30 mph, so a red light is all the time you need. The same 495 hp V8 sits behind you, 0 to 60 takes 2.9 seconds, and with the roof down you hear every gear change from the dual-clutch.
Come onto Miami Beach over the MacArthur Causeway with the roof already folded, then work south on Alton Road to South Pointe Drive. The tip of South Beach is calmer than the blocks to the north. Park by South Pointe Park, walk out on the pier, and watch the cruise ships slide through Government Cut on their way out to sea. Black paint and red seats look sharp against the water, so bring someone to take the photos.
Fold the roof where Las Olas meets the beach, then follow Seabreeze Boulevard south. It uses the same 6.2L V8 with 495 hp, the same 8-speed dual-clutch and the same rear-wheel drive, and this car is listed at 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds with a 194 mph top speed. The folding roof adds a little weight, but the mid-engine balance stays intact.
Press and hold the roof switch and the hardtop folds itself into a compartment behind the seats in about 16 seconds. It works on the move at up to 30 mph. Even with the roof down the rear trunk stays usable, and the front trunk takes a carry-on. The rear window also lowers on its own, which lets in more V8 sound with the roof up.
They share the 495 hp V8 and cost almost the same: $395 a day for this convertible, $400 for the 2023 coupe. The convertible's power hardtop opens fully with one switch, which is the whole point in Miami. The coupe uses a lift-out roof panel and keeps a glass hatch that shows off the engine.
