This is the 2023 Stingray coupe, from the generation that moved the Corvette's V8 behind the seats. The 6.2L engine makes 495 hp, the 8-speed dual-clutch snaps through gears, and 60 mph comes up in 2.9 seconds. Lift off the single roof panel, drop it in the rear trunk, and you get open air with a solid frame around you. The nose sits low, so take driveway lips and garage ramps slowly and at an angle.
Pull the roof panel, start out west near Versailles on SW 8th Street, and roll east into Little Havana. Traffic moves slowly here, which suits a low coupe and gives everyone on the sidewalk time to look. Grab a cafecito from a walk-up window, watch the games at Domino Park, and pass the Tower Theater. The Stingray never feels strained at these speeds, and the V8 sounds best bouncing off the storefronts.
Take Commercial Boulevard east over the Intracoastal and keep going until the road runs out at the fishing pier in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. The town is low-rise and walkable, with beach bars a few steps from the sand, so park the Corvette and stretch your legs out on the pier. Turn south on A1A afterward for more ocean views. The whole loop is short enough to fit in before dinner.

A 6.2L V8 mounted behind the cabin, making 495 hp and sending it to the rear wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch. That is good for 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and a 194 mph top speed. It is a traditional pushrod V8, so there is plenty of torque right off idle.
The single roof panel lifts off and stores in the rear trunk, so you can take it out anywhere and keep it with you. With the panel stowed, rear trunk space shrinks, so use the front trunk for a carry-on and keep everything else to soft bags. Two people with weekend luggage is the realistic limit.
The Stingray is $400 a day and the Z06 is $750. Both are mid-engine coupes with removable roof panels. The Stingray's 495 hp V8 is relaxed and torquey around town. The Z06 adds a 670 hp flat-plane V8 that revs to 8,600 rpm and a wider body. For cruising and photos, the Stingray is plenty. For sound and speed, spend the extra on the Z06.
