Renting an exotic car in Miami is simpler than most people expect, and how you book changes what you need. Book with us directly by phone, text or email and the minimum age is 18, and you don’t need your own insurance: bring a policy if you have one, or purchase coverage through us. Book through our online reservation portal and you’ll need to be 18 or older with proof of your own insurance. Either way: a valid driver’s license, a credit card for the refundable $1,000 deposit, and a place for us to deliver the car.
Below is the long version. What each requirement means, what counts, what doesn’t, and the questions we get every day from first-time exotic renters.
The checklist
- Booking direct (call, text or email): 18+, valid driver’s license, no personal insurance required. Coverage available to purchase
- Booking online: 18+, valid driver’s license, proof of your own insurance
- Deposit: $1,000, refundable, held on a credit card
- International: home-country license + passport. Book direct, not online
- Delivery: a hotel, residence, venue or airport terminal in Miami or Fort Lauderdale. Free
1. Minimum age to rent an exotic car in Miami
The answer is 18, however you book.
Book with us directly by calling, texting or emailing the concierge, and the minimum age is 18. We can cover drivers the online portals won’t touch, which is the single biggest reason to pick up the phone instead of filling in a form.
Book through our online reservation portal and the minimum age is also 18, but the portal requires proof of your own insurance. If you’d rather not put it on your own policy, contact us directly and we’ll handle it.
Prefer not to drive at all? The chauffeur service puts you in the back of the Rolls-Royce or Lamborghini with a professional driver, and none of the driver requirements apply to you.
2. Insurance: what counts
Booking online: our reservation portal carries its own insurance requirement, so you’ll need to show proof of personal auto coverage. The insurance card in your wallet or a screenshot of your policy in the insurer’s app. Your policy’s liability coverage extends to the rental; the deposit and rental agreement cover the rest.
Booking direct: you don’t need your own policy. Bring one if you have it, and if you don’t, we offer coverage you can purchase when you book. That is the real difference between the two routes, and it’s why most first-time renters call.
Common questions:
- “I don’t own a car.” A non-owner policy works for online bookings, or skip it and purchase coverage through us when you book direct.
- “I’m visiting from abroad.” Book direct. Bring your home policy or travel coverage if you have it; if you don’t, you can purchase coverage through us.
- “Do you sell insurance?” Yes, on direct bookings. Ask the concierge when you book and it’s sorted before the car moves. No waiver upsell at the curb.
3. The $1,000 refundable deposit
Every rental carries a $1,000 security deposit held on a credit card. It is a hold, not a charge. It’s released after the car comes back in the condition it was delivered. The deposit must be on a credit card; the rental itself can be paid by card through the booking system.
What can come out of a deposit: fuel if the car isn’t returned full, tolls, mileage over the 125-mile daily allowance, and any damage. What never comes out of it: surprises. Everything is in the rental agreement published on this site.
4. Mileage, fuel and tolls
- 125 miles per day are included. Miami Beach to Fort Lauderdale and back is about 50. If you’re planning a longer drive (the Keys, Palm Beach), ask in advance. Extra miles are easy to arrange.
- Fuel: delivered full, return full. Premium only, please.
- Tolls: Miami is full of them. Tolls are passed through at cost.
5. What happens at delivery
Your concierge meets you at the hotel valet, your residence, or the arrivals curb at MIA or FLL. The handover takes about five minutes:
- License and insurance check
- Deposit hold on your card
- Photos of the car together (protects you as much as us)
- Walk-through: drive modes, nose lift, parking sensors, where the charge port is on the Spectre
- Keys
Then we leave. You’re one text away from the concierge for the entire rental.
6. International visitors
You’re welcome and you’re common. A large share of our renters fly in from abroad. Book by phone or email rather than online: the online portal is built for U.S. renters carrying their own policies, and we cover international drivers on direct bookings. Bring a valid license from your home country plus your passport. An International Driving Permit is helpful if your license isn’t in English but isn’t strictly required. You don’t need your own insurance. Coverage is available to purchase through us. Send the concierge a photo of your license before you arrive and we’ll confirm everything ahead of time so there’s nothing to sort out at the curb.
7. Things that will get a booking declined
We’d rather say it here than at delivery. A rental will be declined if the driver is under 18, has no valid license, can’t provide a credit card for the deposit, or if anyone other than the listed driver intends to drive. Online bookings are also declined without proof of your own insurance. Book direct if you don’t carry a policy. Additional drivers can be added. Just tell us in advance.
